Clarisa Romero is a Certified Mindfulness and Conscious Business Coach. Leveraging her mental health and community engagement background, she founded Mindful Consultants, LLC a firm that specializes in personal and professional development through the practice of mindfulness–a neuroscience- based practicethat retrains the brain for greater awareness, focus, concentration and emotional regulation.
Clarisa is an international presenter, trainer and coach on mindfulness as the foundation of emotional intelligence, leadership, and how being trauma informed cultivates resilience. A leading voice in the mindfulness community, she is a frequent commentator in Spanish and English language media outlets and trainer for a wide array of corporate, healthcare, legal and education clients.
Using guided mindfulness exercises, she teaches individuals and professionals how to harness the power of mindfulness to decrease stress and anxiety and in turn improve productivity, creativity and wellbeing. The techniques she will teach you will help you to unlock the power of your brain to think clearly, listen better and communicate more effectively. She will help you to reduce impulsive decision- making and retrain the reactive mind to remain present in any given situation, allowing decisions to be made free from emotional overload.
She started her career experiences at Newark Beth Israel Hospital’s Therapeutic Learning Center working with children and adolescents with a variety of behavioral difficulties such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), aggression,depression,andimpulsecontrol. Priortofoundingherowncompany, Clarisa was a seasoned community advocate and political operative for almost two decades. She was a government affairs and strategic communications professional for a major public relations and lobbying firm. She also consulted for the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of NJ. Clarisa held high-level appointments spanning several gubernatorial administrations, including as Director of Outreach & Legislative Services at the NJ Department of the Public Advocate. In that capacity, she was the chief representative of the Public Advocate on Governor Corzine’s Blue-Ribbon Panel on Immigrant Policy, where she shaped key recommendations for the state’s policies towards immigrants.
Clarisa serves on the Executive board of the Latino Action Network and The Mercer County Latino Merchant Association.
